Why In-Person Training for Oncology Massage?

Updated: Dec 12, 2024

On-line learning is so convenient, of that there is no doubt.  It provides us with access to an incredible range of subjects and teachers who can support us in widening our skill set.

With all of that convenience why would we bother to take the time and money to attend an in-person course?

In the case of oncology massage, our work is very up close and personal.  On top of knowledge of cancer treatments, we need a nuanced approach to a person who is living with complex side effects as well as often being on an emotional roller coaster.

We need a community so that when we are alone in the treatment room with our client, we still feel supported by other therapists who are facing some of the same complicated clinical decision making.

Even when we aren’t sure how to proceed, we need to know that with a strong framework we can provide treatment that is both safe and effective.

In-person classes provide us with a place to learn and practice, as well as be unsure and vulnerable in the face of the complexity of our client’s presentation.

Live training provides all of this and more.

We look forward to having you join us!
